Lamb Kofta


  • 1 lb ground lamb

  • 1 small onion, grated

  • 2 cloves of garlic, minced

  • 1 teaspoon of ground cumin

  • 1 teaspoon of ground coriander

  • 1/2 teaspoon of paprika

  • 1/4 teaspoon of ground cinnamon

  • Salt and pepper to taste

  • Wooden skewers, soaked in water for 30 minutes

  • Yogurt sauce or tahini sauce for serving



Step 1

In a bowl, combine the ground lamb, grated onion, minced garlic, ground cumin, ground coriander, paprika, ground cinnamon, salt, and pepper. Mix until well combined.

Step 2

Divide the mixture into equal portions and form them into sausage-shaped kebabs around the soaked wooden skewers.

Step 3

Preheat a grill or grill pan over medium-high heat. Grill the lamb koftas for 4-5 minutes on each side, or until cooked through and browned.

Step 4

Serve hot with yogurt sauce or tahini sauce for dipping.
