Spicing It Up: Lamb Shanks

If you’re anything like us, you’ve slow-cooked lamb shanks many times before, and you’re looking for a new way to spice up this special cut.

We’ve got you covered.

TURN THEM INTO LOLLIPOPS

Give your guests a handle to hold onto by trimming (or “Frenching”) one end of the lamb shank, leaving the bone neatly exposed.

Serve them on a platter, garnished with fresh herbs, and let the bone really shine.

SHEPHERD’S PIE, AGAIN

Everyone loves shepherds pie. Start by spooning cooked lamb shank meat and mixed vegetables, into small ramekins or oven-safe dishes. Top the ramekins with a layer of creamy mashed potatoes, and don’t forget to insert the bone right in the middle for some real drama.

Bake until crispy and golden, and enjoy.

STANDALONE PASTRY PIE

Start by removing the mostly-cooked lamb shank meat from the bone and shredding into bite-sized pieces. Mix with cooked grains and spices, and shape the mixture around the bone. Place on top of a pastry around, cover with a second pastry round, and cook until golden brown.

You have yourself a show stopping Lamb Shank Pastry Pie.
